Castleford Community Food Pantry
Good food, not food waste. Just £1.
We rescue surplus food that would otherwise go to landfill and share it with our community. No referral needed. Everyone is welcome.
supported by GLOW
About us
Reduce waste. Feed people. Build community.
We collect surplus food that would otherwise go to waste and make it available to our community.
Every week good food is saved from landfill and shared with local people for just £1. There is no referral and no paperwork. You just turn up, bring a bag and choose what you need.
The pantry is supported by GLOW, who generously provide space in their churches so we can run our sessions. GLOW does not run the pantry. It is a community effort powered by local volunteers.

Help us rescue more food
The more surplus food we can save, the more neighbours we can feed. Here is how you can help.
Become a surplus food partner
Are you a supermarket, shop, cafe, bakery or wholesaler with good food you cannot sell? Partner with us and we will make sure it feeds people instead of filling a bin.
Volunteer your time
Our sessions run on kindness and willing hands. Even an hour or two a week makes a real difference.
Spread the word
Tell a neighbour, share our sessions with your street or community group, and follow the pantry so no one misses out.
Volunteer
Give a little time, make a big difference
No experience needed. Just bring a warm welcome and a willingness to help.
Ways you can help
- Collecting and sorting surplus food
- Setting up and packing down at sessions
